    Hi everyone!

I have been doing freeletics for 3 weeks now and I am incredibly excited to get better every day.

I was a competitive swimmer all my life, I did some weights at the gym, and for the past 5 years, I have been doing Bikram (Hot) Yoga. I have wanted to be a more complete athlete and hence, after searching for crossfit stuff on youtube, I ran into Freeletics. It seems amazing to think how many things we can accomplish with very few things.

I got the free app for my iphone and then purchsed the full version. I must say that the first week I tried (I call it my conditioning week), I couldn't even finish aphrodite. I have been alternating between Aphrodite one day and Max sets another for a total of 4 times a week. I am now finishing Aphrodite in 30 minutes.

The program is wonderful, though not very clear. Everyone suggests something different and it is hard to know what routine to follow. Furthermore, there are workouts that are way to hard for someone who is just starting, but I'll get there eventually. Does anyone know what the best way to plan a freeletics routine is?

Glad to meet you. I am currently in Mexico and hopefully someone will want to join me in training Freeletics over here someday!

    Best regards.

    HI Pichino

You will get better as you will probably hear from everyone here :p

How do you mean you don't know the best way to plan freeletics? Doing the 4 workouts in a week or doing the different sessions during the workout?

    Regards
    Jeroen

Hi Jeroen! Thank you for the reply and I truly appreciate your welcome.

To answer your question, I am still unclear what workouts should be done in a week. The Freeletics people have sent me some info by email, but the routines there do not specify for how many weeks it should be done and they even include the Zeus workout, which seems a bit tough to start.

Because of that, I decided to do the following:

    - Conditioning week - Tried to finish Aphrodite two days, unsuccesfully. Did some max's 2 other days.

    - First week - Two Aphrodite days, two max days (4-5 of those).

    - Second week - Two Aphrodite days, two max days (4-5 of those).

I am currently in my Third Week, unsure if I should keep doing this for a week or two weeks, to condition my body in order to continue with other routines. It seems that the variance, frequency and conditioning of the body to avoid injuries is not too clear, as to how one must proceed. Added to that, I do hot yoga four times a week.

Hope this explains the situation and thank you once again!

    Hi Pichino

To get technical, you "should" do all the workouts you get in one week, which seems logical. But it isn't obligatory!
Especially for people starting out with freeletics and those who don't have a basic condition already, doing all workouts in one week is tough, maybe even crazy. You should simply try to complete the workouts according to what your body tells you. If you can't even move, wait a day and make sure to take care of your body.
As you might have noticed the coach subscription is valid for more than 15 weeks this is to include the possibility of falling sick, needing a break or just taking one more day to complete the entire week. In the end the only thing that matters is you do it and never quit :p

I remember the Zeus workout in the beginning, I had it in week 3 or 4, I know it is a bitch! But this one of those crazy freeletics challenges to get an idea what you're capable of. Take it easy, use the easier forms of certain exercices and just try to get to the end of it. Weeks later you'll meet him again and then you will see what huge improvement you've made :D

Next thank you for letting me discover a new sport, never heard of hot yoga ^^ Doing that combined with freeletics will definitely be a challenge and you might want to cut down a bit with the hot yoga in the beginning. Or if you really want to keep your schedule, schedule freeletics at another part of the day. Make sure your body gets time to heal. It looks like hot yoga is perfect to prevent soreness, so maybe you could ask a trainer there how you could plan your activities?

I hope to have answered at least part of your question and good luck

    Regards

    Jeroen:

Thank you once again for all the info! I will simply continue with my personal routine and obviously not quit ;)

I have thought of doing Aphrodite and Max's for a month to condition my body in general and then alternate with other routines that are not quite as challenging as Zeus in the beginning. The important thing, I assume is trying to do about 4 workouts a week and go from there.

As far as Bikram Yoga, I'm glad that you think it is interesting. It is an amazing activity that not only gives you strength, balance, and flexibility, but it also heals you and makes your whole organism work in harmony, both inside and outside the body. It is said that one Bikram Yoga session is done in order to work your whole body (inside and out) in 1 and a half hours. It is done in a heated room at 42 degrees centigrates with 50% humidity. I have found Freeletics to be the perfect link to Bikram Yoga, since I have felt Freeletics giving me much more strength in shoulders, pectorals and abs mainly... and the yoga gives me great flexibility for my Freeletics workouts. Both of them give you an amazing physical condition :D

I will keep posting and sharing and I truly appreciate talking with awesome people who do Freeletics as well!

I could use some more balance... If only I had the time to do something else besides school and freeletics (Cursed end of the year period ;) )
I don't know whether you've ever heard of "pistolets" it's one of the exercices on freeletics. I simply need a fence or anything to hold on to, making sure I don't fall on my ass doing those
Furthermore doing Aphrodites and max's is a good way to start out, I started with the 5 free weeks before I started the strength coach and there were quite a few Aphrodites in there as well. (Some crazy exercices as well where I was just angry with freeletics after half the workout just because it was impossible :p ) But I believe the coaches are way better. I've discovered they really are quite different for everyone and are adapted to your results you gained in the first few weeks. So I really like that.

What I believe: I'm in my 14th week of the coach now, just have do to one more session and the 15th week "Hell week" will commence. I think if I'm going to compare that to the crazy exercices in the beginning I'm really going to feel this sense of accomplishment, because even though those exercices were practically impossible, I finished them and next week I'll be able to compare my results then and now.  :D

    Hi Pichino,

this sounds as if you are still training with the email newsletter from freeletics.
You are aware that there's a coach available (15 weeks training program, 39,-€) to give you a weekly training program to follow with all the FL exercises, not just the few that are in the free newsletter?

It looks like you could use the guidance provided by the coach as you are unsure on how to proceed with the training.

    Happy training and keep going!

Great to hear from you again man! Sorry for the delay, I had been away from the site a few days. I haven't heard of pistolets, but I'm sure I'l find out about them soon enough!

It sounds like you are very advanced with the Freeletics training! I would be interested in having a coach as well, though I find myself wanting to get more conditioned in all exercises, before I do so (in order to truly take advantage of the specific training). Is it easy to get the coach? Can you ask him stuff? Everytime I have written the Freeletics contact info, they simply tell me to go on the site and find my anwers there (whcih are not always there).

The Bikram Yoga thing you should try someday... it is very cool and I think it gives you an other angle to work your body and mind.

Looking forward to continuing sharing experiences! Thanks once again for the replies!

    Hi Kielerkoenig!

Great to meet you! I have truly considered getting the coach, so long as there is communication with him/her. Do you know if that is possible? I got the paid app on my phone, in order to get all the routines, but I have only done Aphrodite so far, since I still feel like I need more strength and I also need to see how to get a pull up bar as well.

How are you liking the coach so far? Is it specific to your needs or simply the routines that you get in the paid app? Thanks again!
