When I look at the example film and also others on YT I see that people are swinging their body up instead of pulling up! Why is this and why not keep your body still and then slowly pull-up. It looks easier when you swing but it feels that it is also easier to make the wrong movement? What is your thought on this. THanks in advance.
Keeping your body still is also known as "strict pullups", these are indeed much harder. I think it's the best, definitely if you have to do a lot of reps or you're simply not used to doing pullups to do slightly tilting pullups. If you overdo the swing and really start acting like a monkey, ofcourse you'll be doing someghing wrong and probably you'll be straining a few muscles rather sooner than later... The idea with normal pullups is to make a quick tilt, slightly lifting your legs to help you get up the bar and then carefully lower your body back down. If you do workouts like posseidon with only a few pullups in a row you can do strict pullups, but when you get the funny ones like Artemis & Kronos, you will prefer the slightly tilting version unless you're already a giant and have no problem with 50-100 pullups in a row... Hope this helps a bit & good luck! regards Jeroen
